My work is created using ancient monotype marbling techniques. As a craft, marbling has been around since 12th century Japan but is often overlooked as purely decorative in nature. My practice moves beyond traditionalism to explore marbling as both a skilled craft and an opportunity for artistic innovation and play.
By floating paints on water, I create delightful micro worlds that invite the viewer into curiosity and wonder. The finicky nature of the medium makes each print a one-of-a-kind monotype which deepens the magic and delight of my practice.
